Compliance Specialist

Our client is a market-leading, multinational company who are searching for a Compliance Specialist with 4+ years' experience to join their expanding legal team based in Northampton.

Our client is a highly successful multinational which works with leading businesses and brands on a global scale. This organisation is international in outlook and multifaceted in nature. A new opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Specialist to work with the Lead Compliance Counsel and support the business with key trade matters.

The Role

This is a varied role that will encompass the following:
* Support Trade Compliance Counsel with implementing and enhancing the corporate-level export/import compliance standards, guidelines and compliance monitoring procedures for Company's European operations.
* Identify and report to Trade Compliance Counsel any potential violations of trade compliance regulations and implement process improvements to mitigate risk.
* Support internal, external and government-directed trade compliance audits and assessments and execute corrective action and internal training.
* Assist in compliance related training initiatives including training material development and delivering presentations to various departments and business units.
* Assist business units with custom-related issues and questions.
* Assist as necessary with trade compliance related matters relevant to the European offices.
* Whilst the key aspect of this role is to work on trade compliance issues this person will also support and assist with other aspects of the Compliance team work as required; such as compliance reviews, awareness and training on the XPO Code of Business Ethics, anti-bribery and anti trust.

The Person

This position would suit a Compliance lawyer with c.4+ years' experience in a similar position, ideally with strong knowledge of customs law in the UK, EU and US. There is an excellent salary and benefits package available.
