Requirements

  • 3-8 years of experience as a lawyer / legal counsel ideally  in the financial services, banking, payments, FinTech or technology sector
  • Fluent English speaker and drafter

Location and hours
Sao Paolo with some work from home.

You will report directly to the global Head of Legal of this organisation. They are a caring and committed manager who looks after and supports their team. The team like each other, they are open, friendly, collaborative and supportive.

Role
This is a varied in-house legal role within an innovative, successful and growing organisation. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders including commercial, customer facing and supply chain departments, as well as the finance, marketing, product development, technology, HR etc. You will report to the global Head of Legal.

The position focuses on commercial activities and handles contractual matters including high value complex contracts and big ticket projects, as well as some corporate and regulatory work (let us know of your preferences - there is an opportunity to influence how the work is structured). 

You will: work closely with the business supporting the development of new products and services from the legal perspective, draft, negotiate, optimise and review (both bespoke / unique and templated) commercial agreements including software, supplier, business customer contracts and other types of agreements; advise on the local laws and regulations relevant to the business; develop and improve existing legal framework and interact with external counsel.

  • You are a= qualified lawyer / legal counsel with experience in the financial services, banking, payments, FinTech or technology sector.
