Legal Counsel, West Midlands

Arbuthnot Yon has been instructed an opportunity for a lawyer with at least 5 years’ PQE to join a leading global business.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercial lawyer to undertake a business facing varied role where no 2 days are the same!

Reporting into the Head of Legal and forming part of a large established in-house team, you will act as Business Partner to the commercial team which has an annual spend in the £100s of million.  The emphasis of your role will involve working closely with business colleagues and advising on commercial contracts and large-scale commercial projects.  You will also advise on and oversee broader legal areas including technology projects, procurement, construction, disputes and real estate matters (with support from external law firms as required).

We are keen to hear from lawyers with at least 5 years’ PQE gained in-house or in private practice who are looking to develop and step up in a business environment.  Alternatively, this position would be suited to (and we are also very keen to hear from) more experienced lawyers looking for a new challenge.   In terms of specific experience, we are looking for lawyers with strong commercial contract lawyers with good negotiation skills.  This is a varied role which touches on all aspects of the business therefore the willingness to get stuck in and involved in different areas of law is a must!
