Job Details
We are working with a notable Top 50 firm who are looking for commercial litigation lawyers who could work with them on a contract basis.
Candidates who have experience in banking & finance disputes, PPI litigation and LIBOR disputes will be of notable interest. Due to the nature of the requirement, successful candidates are likely to have between 1-9 years' PQE gained from top 100 City or leading regional firms. Due to the current global situation, these assignments will not be office based and candidates will be working remotely.
Successful candidates will specialise in contentious work for a range of the firms' financial institution clients to include mortgage lenders, building societies and international and major banks.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Running a caseload for key financial services clients
- Providing strategic and commercial legal advice on an array of contentious disputes
- Assessing and progressing a litigation caseload
- Working with more senior solicitors and partners on large cases
Supervision and assistance will be provided where required.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales or another commonwealth jurisdiction, such as New Zealand, Australia and/or South Africa
- Possess 1-9 years' PQE in handling contentious matters
- Ideally possess experience in banking and finance litigation
- Experience gained from a top 100 law firm
- An appetite to build excellent relationships with clients
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop
- Ability to work effectively as a team and independently
- Capacity to work effectively remotely
