Our client , a major law firm with an exceptional asset management practice, are seeking to hire a talented and gifted individual who can assist with profile raising and practice development in a more market facing role,developing and pursuing client initiatives and engaging with peers, the press and industry bodies on a commercial and technical level.
The role
The title of the role is head of policy for asset management but the successful hire will have a general
responsibility, alongside the partners in the group, for helping the development of the asset management practice.
We would expect the specific functions to include the following:
Contribute, and co-ordinate the contribution by others, to:
- Responses to consultations by the FCA and other relevant regulators;
- Articles in the asset management press;
- Industry and technical bodies.
- Attend and speak at asset management focussed events.
- Profile raising
- Contribute, and co-ordinate the contribution by others, to:
- Articles in the trade press;
- Comment in national newspapers.
- Attend trade and industry events.
- Business development
- Contribute, and co-ordinate the contribution by others to client mailings, client seminars and specific education for client groupings and specific clients;
- Assist with the development and delivery of targeted market propositions and initiatives;
- Develop relationships with potential clients and perform relationship management role where appropriate.
The successful candidate will likely to have recently been within a City asset management practice at partner or a senior counsel level, an in-house head of legal or a senior role within an asset management trade body role, but candidates who can otherwise demonstrate the necessary experience, drive and gravitas would be considered.
In addition the successful hire will have energy, enthusiasm and will enjoy working in a cohesive team.
The role will ideally be full time, although we could consider a three or four day per week role.
