Commercial or Regulatory Lawyer

Not all the financial services in-house legal roles are in London, and this expanding and established organisation is taking on the challenger banks from it’s head office in the West Midlands. They are currently seeking an additional senior lawyer for the team. As replacement for a longstanding, much-loved employee, you will be offered immense responsibility in an adult, relatively politics-free environment. You will service the proven buy to let mortgage business in addition to other product lines offered by the company, and you will also be responsible for commercial contracts. As part of the small legal team you will experience excellent leadership from the General Counsel, and good exposure to management and decision makers. The business moves fast, and you will need to get to grips with relevant regulation quickly and so we are looking for someone who is highly motivated with lots of energy. It could be someone who is able to grow into the role and it certainly offers scope for anyone looking for prospects. With a good governance and controls in place, you need to be prepared for accountability.

Ideally applicants should be at least 6 years qualified with commercial contracts and regulatory experience, ideally within the mortgages space.  Some experience of an in-house environment would be useful but not essential.
