Commercial Litigation Partner - Mid-market firm. £140,000+

This team are actively interviewing strong commercial litigation, partner-level, candidates to join the firm’s commercial disputes group. Despite the current environment the firm is well placed financially and keen to invest further into what has always been a core practice area.

The department of c. 15 partners forms an important part of the firm both in terms of income and profile, and covers the full range of  disputes work such as general commercial, FS, Insolvency, Regulatory, IP and IT. Due to growth over the last 5 years’ the team contains a number of laterals who have enjoyed the move (often from bigger firms) and helped to drive an increase in profits and turnover.

Mainly these are generalist disputes lawyers but with the expertise to cover the areas listed above, and others. Inevitably, most matters have some form of international element, but the core is generally domestic/UK. There is nothing too prescriptive by way of sector approach, but SMEs, FS institutions, technology, private wealth/family offices and corporate real estate form a strong “spine” of existing clients. Those partners that we have met so far seem an agreeable group, enjoying each other’s company and also the autonomy to develop their own practices.

In today’s economic environment this firm, like most others, will be looking for laterals who can hit the ground running and start to bring across clients and develop a meaningful business. The firm will consider both partners and also non-partner candidates who have this sort of network and who feel it would fit into the culture and client base of the firm.
