In-house legal counsel

Our client is a large and successful organisation with a strong Yorkshire connection, and has recently posted yet more good financial results. They have a well regarded and connected legal team who are integral to the success of the business, and are looking to strengthen that department with the appointment of another lawyer.

To bolster the legal support offxered to the business, they are looking to hire additional counsel to undertake a broad ranging role, encompassing commercial contracts related work, and some financial services regulatory matters. This might include advising and negotiating on a range of commercial contracts including sponsorship contracts, IT contracts and software licences, and liaising with the marketing team, advising on the relevant regulatory requirements, and assisting in maintaining an up-to-date policies etc.

This role would suit a lawyer with c1-3 years pqe, and a strong business law focus to their career so far. You could be looking for your first move in house, or already be working in business, and will have a background of commercial, corporate financial services, commercial litigation or regulatory work. Given the nature of some of the work crossing the desk, some experience or working in a regulated environment would be helpful, but is by no means essential as the team has the knowledge base and desire to train up individuals in new areas of law.
