We are looking for someone to help us make a difference.

The Council is looking to appoint a qualified Lawyer to be its Monitoring Officer and to lead its Legal and Democratic Services.

The Candidate

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Local Government Lawyer who is looking to take on the challenge of the role of Monitoring Officer and the responsibility of being the Council’s lead legal advisor.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A qualification as a solicitor or barrister and a current UK Practising Certificate
     
  • A proven ability to lead and motivate others
     
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
     
  • Five years post-graduation experience advising members and senior officers
