We’re the premier provider of R&D tax credits in the UK and the best independent consultancy firm (Taxation Awards 2018), as well as featuring in the Sunday Times top small companies to work for two years running. We’ve doubled in size each year and we’re still growing. As part of our growth we have launched an exciting new advisory practice which supports businesses of all sizes through HMRC enquiries and delivers complex consultancy projects.

As this is a new service, you will be part of a small, growing team and so teamwork and collaboration will be essential. This is an exciting and high-profile role for someone who would like to play an important part in helping to develop the future of our advisory practice. If you’re looking for a change, the opportunity to make a real difference and feel the impact of your work, this role could be for you.

We are looking for a talented dispute resolution specialist who will work closely with experts across ForrestBrown to deliver excellent commercial advice to our clients. You will primarily resolve enquiries from HMRC into R&D tax credit claims prepared by others. This will include reviewing claim documentation, providing practical advice on the client’s position and responding to HMRC’s concerns on their behalf. Ultimately, you will implement a strategy to achieve the best possible outcome for the client and drive the enquiry through to resolution. More broadly, you will also support wider advisory projects which could include planning, forecasting and training.

To be successful in this role you will be a qualified lawyer with significant experience of dispute resolution - ideally in tax investigations. You will also have worked with HMRC in the past. You will be genuinely interested and energized by the chance to uncover new opportunities and help our business grow. You’ll need to be entrepreneurial and proactive, a team player and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

If you are a self-starter that is looking to use their legal experience in a an altogether different environment, where your passion, ambition and excellence will be rewarded, then you could be exactly what we are looking for.
