Top 200 law firm are looking for a planning lawyer to join their team in Leeds, ultimately with a view to succession planning in the department. This opportunity will hopefully appeal to a lawyer at one of the larger firms who wants visibility and partnership prospects in a single site practice with a culture which contrasts to the largest brands.

This firm has a well respected planning teams in the region and work closely with the firm's real estate department which acts for a range of commercial and residential developers and so provide property support yet also undertake standalone planning work. Major infrastructure projects are not core work albeit there are several team members from that background.

They are ideally looking for someone with 7yrs PQE+ who will be able to handle a varied caseload of planning appeals, Environmental Assessment, planning enforcement, heritage legislation, planning judicial reviews and legal challenges, Section 106 Agreements, Development Consent Orders, Habitat Regulations
Assessment and compulsory purchase orders. You will be reporting directly to the head of department who is a renowned expert in the field, and ultimately taking on the role so the firm want to recruit someone who'd want that challenge and responsibility.
