Construction 5+

Working on a major piece of infrastructure development in London, you will play a key role in the delivery of a major project.

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the business with respect to all construction, procurement and project related matters, relating to the major Infrastructure Expansion project, including the following
* Development of a comprehensive suite of template contracts for design, services and construction (including all ancillary documentation) for use on Expansion;
* Provision of legal support to the negotiation of project agreements with key Expansion third party stakeholders;
* Provision of support and advise to Expansion Procurement and Commercial teams on the following:
o contracting strategy and processes;
o documentation and process;
o general compliance;
o governance;
o assurance; and
o regulatory issues (in liaison with Heathrow's regulatory legal team).
* Leading on, or participating in, key contract and project agreement negotiations with suppliers and stakeholders; and
* Legal advice relating to post-contract issues arising under Expansion contracts and project agreements.

The role holder will be confident and able to work independently and to lead on the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of construction and procurement related documentation, all with support and supervision from the Head of Legal for Construction and Infrastructure and in close consultation with Commercial and Procurement colleagues. They will have a solid and demonstrated knowledge of different areas of law including construction, compliance, procurement, commercial and other laws and issues relating to infrastructure projects.

The role holder is accountable to, and will support and assist, the Head of Legal for Construction and Infrastructure who is, in turn, accountable to the Deputy General Counsel.

The role is non-contentious but will involve providing support and advice in respect of any post-contractual issues and disputes that may arise in this area of the business. Therefore, some non-contentious construction experience would be beneficial.
