Finance Associates– Market Leading Practice of Elite US Firm in London
Ambitious finance lawyers are sought to join this Elite US firm's market leading practice.
The Firm
The firm is one of the highest profile names in the US and London market and are renowned for consistently attracting the highest calibre of transactional work as well as ‘bet the house’ litigation matters. Whilst headquartered in the US the firm also has an extensive network of offices in all the major global business hubs and are ranked amongst the top tier of the market in all jurisdictions they operate in. London is no exception and the firm has an exceptional reputation for handling the highest quality of transactional work as well as entrusting associates a far higher level of responsibility than other competitors.
The Team
This is one of the top tier banking and finance practices in the market and the firm handles a variety of big-ticket financings in concert with the firm’s tier 1 corporate practice or act solely as independent finance counsel. As with most US firms the practice is focussed on acquisition finance and leveraged finance deals although the team also handles some more structured work as well as elements of refinancing and non-traditional lending. This is not a work life balance option and lawyers in the team do work hard but this is in the context of working with some of the most sophisticated borrower and lender clients in the market and the level of exposure and responsibility attained would be second to none. This is a very close knit team and tends to attract bright and ambitious personalities who are keen to rise to the top of their market but in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.
The Candidate
The team is in the midst of an extremely busy period and are seeking lawyers primarily at the junior-mid levels but would happily consider senior associates looking to take a step up or improve their progression prospects as well as NQ’s (must have been retained) who are looking to fast track their career. Candidates will ideally have some acquisition finance experience although at the junior level this is not a pre-requisite. Candidates coming out of Magic Circle, Silver Circle or US firms are likely to have relevant experience although the team has also had a lot of success hiring from other top UK or international firms as well as those in the Irish/ Scottish markets.
