Head of Legal opportunity for ambitious property lawyer to work for Group with the Board & Ops Team
My client, a South Yorkshire based national business, seeks a property lawyer as First Legal Counsel for a wide-ranging legal role and additional company secretarial duties. The organisation is looking for a go-getting and commercially focused lawyer with a background in real estate/residential development to work closely with the Board, providing strategic advice and ensuring a robust approach to governance and compliance.
Legal matters will include general contract management, drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements - many of which will be property related, also giving general advice on additional areas such as procurement, employment, corporate, property and litigation. You will also manage the relationship with external counsel. As Head of Legal you will also have responsibility for company secretarial (previous experience is not needed), corporate governance and compliance.
Suitable candidates will have a minimum of 5 years PQE to more senior. Lawyers coming from a private practice background will be of equal interest as those already in-house. You should be a strong communicator, very commercially aware and solutions focused. You should also possess strong influencing skills and be keen to work within a fast-paced and growing business.
