The Role - In-house Assistant Solicitor
To support the DFS Group as it continues to grow, a new opportunity has arisen for an NQ-2 years' PQE solicitor to join the established legal team in Doncaster.
As part of the team, the Assistant Solicitor will work with the General Counsel and Company Secretary undertaking a range of commercial and legal work and will also have the opportunity to become involved in Company Secretarial work for the FTSE listed PLC.
This will involve the individual:
- Maintaining and developing contract procedures, undertaking periodical reviews to enable strong governance
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory changes, analysing any impact on the business to ensure any necessary changes
- Delivering timely legal advice to business stakeholders and project teams. Identifying legal risks, resisting threatened or actual litigation and making recommendations to assist with effective decision making.
- Drafting, negotiating and renewing legal agreements.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic solicitor with NQ-2 years' PQE, who can build strong internal relationships and handle a broad range of interesting, high quality work.
Applications are invited from those with general commercial contracts, IT, IP, or similar commercial experience. In addition to strong advisory and drafting skills, you must have the ability to identify the commercial aspects of a legal problem and be able to communicate pragmatic solutions to help the business continue its success.
