A leading US firm in the London market is in growth mode and looking to recruit junior, mid-level and senior associates to bolster their market-leading corporate practice.

The Firm

The firm is one of the biggest names in the US corporate market and has a well-established London offering across a range of different practice areas. In the past few years the firm have turned to London as a key part of their international growth strategy and are in the midst of an ambitious drive to find high quality corporate lawyers to bolster their group. The firm is also one of the few US firms in the market to pay London associates on par with Lawyers in New York so the successful candidate will also be one of the most handsomely paid lawyers at their level in the market.

The Team

This is a relatively small corporate team where each associate is expected to take on significant levels of responsibility for client relationships as well as deal management. As a result lawyers are able to gain far more hands on experience and develop their skills sets in a way that would not be possible at other corporate practices. The group covers a range of corporate transactional work including M&A, Corporate Finance, Private Equity and Corporate Restructuring matters. The corporate client base is equally varied and covers a variety of top tier corporates, investment managers, energy majors and financial institutions.

The Role

The team are looking to bring in in a bright and ambitious junior to mid-level corporate solicitor with a high quality training as well as a desire to take on high levels of responsibility within a small corporate team at the top end of the market. Successful candidates are likely to have a minimum of 12 months to 7 years post qualification corporate experience although this is a team in growth mode and high calibre candidates with more or less experience are also encouraged to apply. The team has had success hiring out of the Magic Circle and Silver Circle in the past although lawyers from City or National Firms as well as other US firms or Scottish and Irish practices will all be considered.
