Recognised across the technology market as an award-winning platform, this business has exquisite offices in the City, with modern set up, open plan, collaborative environment, plenty of onsite entertainment in breakout areas and pets in the office. This business has ambitions to IPO in the next few years and has grown both organically and acquisitively.

Your new role
A newly created in-house legal position that is the first in the UK, reporting to the General Counsel based in the European mainland. As the first in-house counsel in London, you will build relationships across the business to establish how legal is perceived, while helping develop policies, procedures and contracts infrastructure. You will negotiate and draft complex SaaS agreements, vendor agreements and other varied contracts, while also advising on ad hoc employment, data protection and risk analysis matters. Working closely with sales, procurement, marketing and HR professionals, you will become an indispensable cog in the UK machine, while also assuming responsibility for selective European jurisdictions.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be UK or Commonwealth qualified lawyer with full working rights and at least 4 PQE (as a rough guide). You must have some in-house exposure as a commercial generalist or technology lawyer, ideally with some technology contracts and SaaS experience. You will be comfortable working as a sole counsel, ready to offer commercial solutions, innovation and technical expertise, delivered with fantastic communication skills and an ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
