Job Details
Our client is a global business law firm.
Marsden are instructed to source a Senior In-House Legal Counsel to report to the General Counsel and advise the firm on legal issues affecting the firm, both in the UK and Internationally. The workload will be varied and include commercial contracts, firm governance, mergers/demergers, procurement and data protection. Reporting to the Board and senior partners, this role offers a high profile opportunity to be involved in the firm's exciting development. The successful candidate will also be responsible for growing out the team.
Work load - Candidates for this role will have an ever-changing, fascinating and broad diet of work, that may include:
- Taking a commercial and practical approach, and offering appropriate and innovative solutions to complex and often novel legal problems;
- negotiating, drafting and advising on a range of contracts, Terms, loan agreements , JV agreements, new premises acquisitions and confidentiality agreements;
- Management and handling of Data Protection and Trade Mark issues
- Assisting the in-house finance and tax teams on finance and tax issues affecting the firm.
- extensive experience in corporate/company and/or commercial contract law;
- have a proven track record of successfully managing and developing a team;
- preferably worked in house within the legal environment;
- a strong client-service orientation, showing empathy, flexibility, and being solutions focused;
- to be an expert relationship manager working with all levels.
