OVERVIEW
Our client is a top tier US law firm that has cemented its place as one of, if not the leading US practice in London. They are highly ranked in restructuring and arbitration/dispute resolution in all the directories. Following a continuous phase of sustained growth in the office as a whole, the firm is now seeking a contentious insolvency lawyer to join them on a permanent, full time basis. You will sit in the dispute resolution team but you will also work closely with the restructuring team. Given that this firm works on “top of the market” restructuring transactions, the work which flows out of the restructuring team or which the highly rated dispute resolution team generates itself, is absolutely top notch.
THE ROLE
The role will see the successful candidate become an integral part of the firm’s remarkable arbitration and dispute resolution team. You will act on the full gamut of insolvency litigation matters that include a mix of pre and post formal insolvency work including, but not limited to:
- Advising creditors
- Administration applications (creditor, company and secured lender)
- Advisory work alongside restructuring transactions
- Misfeasance claims
- Antecedent transactions claims
- Asset recovery claims
- Trusts disputes arising out of insolvency
The work will be varied and complex and although it will invariably be contentious. You may be required to undertake some commercial litigation or arbitration, as required.
THE CANDIDATE
Candidates applying for this position should be able to display:
- 4-5 years' PQE;
- Experience gained within a well-regarded insolvency and restructuring department of a recognised firm or in a litigation team with an insolvency bias;
- Strong academic background (2:1 degree desirable);
- The ability to provide clear and practical advice;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and legal technical skills; and
- A commitment to business development and client relationship management.
SALARY
The firm offers an excellent salary package starting and access to exceptional benefits throughout your career. Top of market rates, not to mention a fulfilling and rewarding workload. You’ll be working in a structured environment that offers extensive support, ongoing professional development and peer review. Promotion prospects are excellent.
