Head of Legal Operations – Travel business – Bedfordshire

We’re seeking a Head of Legal Operations for a travel business based in Bedfordshire. The primary goal of this role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the legal, company secretary and regulatory team. This is a new position for the business -  so a first step will be to identify gaps and proactively develop solutions. Key areas of responsibility are: strategic planning and execution, finance and budget management, legal information technology, outside counsel and vendor management and communications.

Your accountabilities will include:

* Supervising expense control and guide the LC&R team’s external vendor relations, including overseeing vendor and law firm rates, billing and compliance with company policies and billing guidelines

* Developing vendor assessment tools, identify and address vendor relationship issues, and develop strategies for leveraging and maintaining solid vendor relationships

* Interfacing with the Finance function for forecasting, tracking spend, and budget preparations

The successful candidate will have strong data analytical skills, leadership ability, and business and project management knowledge. You will possess the ability to research industry trends, analyse current business conditions, identify issues/risks, and develop implementable, measurable strategies and plans to solve current business problems, protect company interests, and raise the maturity of LC&R’s operations. You have at least 6 years of corporate legal department experience, we’d like to hear from you.
