Company Secretary / Corporate Governance Legal Consultant – Global Bank – Contract - Central London

The Client

Our client, a global bank, seeks a a qualified lawyer with company secretary and corporate governance experience to support its London arm for a 6-12 month contract (minimum, permanent potential).

The Role

This role goes beyond the basic job description, and you will be required to complete legal- and business-focused tasks. Examples of responsibilities include:

  • Managing Board arrangements;
  • Providing quality-control of materials provided to Directors;
  • Ensuring good Board governance;
  • Corporate governance;
  • Advising on risk management, including conduct and legal risk;
  • Creating and maintaining standards for papers and reports;
  • Preparing and publishing meeting minutes; and 
  • Supporting the wider legal team on ad hoc matters.

About You

You should:

  • Have previous experience as a Company Secretary or in corporate governance;
  • Be a UK qualified lawyer with a strong legal background (5-12 years of experience); and
  • Be able to build strong relationships, trust and credibility with stakeholders (particularly at Board level).
