General Counsel - Leading UK Firm

We are looking to appoint a General Counsel to the firm. Acting as COLP and MLRO and reporting directly to the Chair of the Partnership, you will spearhead the effective management of risk and compliance across the firm and ensure strong and effective governance of the organisation, which will include advising on the day to day commercial legal matters. Ideally you will have a range of legal and regulatory experience to offer, including general commercial and litigation. It is important that you have a strong understanding of the regulatory environment in which the firm and its associate businesses operate, including experience of handling complex risk issues and dealing with the SRA and other relevant regulators. As part of the Operations Board and Risk Committee you will play an important and influential role within the firm, including management of the LLP Membership Agreement.

The firm is looking for someone with the personality and people skills to influence, lead and motivate fee-earners to engage with risk and other issues and to work with people to implement an enhanced compliance regime. You will be a trusted adviser to the management of the firm and the role represents an outstanding opportunity for an existing COLP or MLRO to step up to General Counsel or for someone from another regulated professional services environment to move into the legal sector.
