Head of Legal - first time appointment - Design company - London

Our client is an award winning design company based in London that has experienced exciting and rapid growth in recent years.  Due to this expansion is has become necessary to appoint an in-house lawyer for the first time.

As the sole lawyer this role offers you a fantastic opportunity to shape a legal function and work closely with the senior management team to install a legal, risk and compliance framework across the business.

Initially you will execute this role as sole counsel taking responsibility for establishing the legal function.  There may be an opportunity to build a team in the future as the company continues to expand. 

We are seeking a robust senior lawyer who is keen to take on the challenge.  You will be rewarded with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment among like-minded energetic and creative people.

Ideally the successful candidate will be a commercial lawyer who has worked in-house and tackled a broad range of matters. You should have prior experience of advising the Board and Executive level and managing external counsel. It is advantageous to have some knowledge of property and construction issues but not essential.

Our client will consider this role on a 4-day week basis.
