Court of Protection Associate and Senior Associate

Errington Legal are currently seeking an Associate (2+PQE)  and Senior Associate/Partner (8+PQE) to join our clients' growing, specialist and highly regarded Court of Protection team to be based in either Birmingham or Milton Keynes.

Taking responsibility for your own caseload, you will provide assistance to other lawyers in the team with the day to day administration of all aspects of Court of Protection work including applications for the appointments of Deputies, Statutory Will applications and the ongoing administration of the financial affairs of individuals who lack mental capacity. 

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to have a high level of client contact both over the phone and in person and will join an ambitious and dedicated team. Some experience of wider private client/community care work would be beneficial. Some knowledge of Welfare matters/public law areas would be beneficial but is not essential.

You will be expected to have excellent client care skills including a friendly and helpful approach to dealing with queries both from clients and internally.

For more senior candidates, you will need to have a proven track record of supporting clients and families in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act, as well as a proven ability to lead and supervise a team. We would be particularly interested to hear from Panel Deputies and those that have a following of clients. A detailed knowledge of the costings process and the required team structuring is also required.
