Location

This opportunity is based in Bristol, 2 minutes stroll from Temple Meads train station. Here, you will be in the heart of the city with easy access to some of the best attractions Bristol has to offer, including the theatre, shopping, restaurants, museums and art galleries.

Team

The team is known for “comprehensive commercial and contentious IP offering to rival those of City and international firms.” (Chambers).

We offer advice on all aspects of intellectual property, including ownership and protection, exploitation and enforcement (both litigation and Registry based proceedings).

Work

As an IP Litigator, you will work collaboratively with our clients to deliver pragmatic, commercial advice on complex intellectual property disputes and pre launch clearance advice. You will need proven experience in intellectual property dispute resolution across a broad range of business sectors, particularly in the media, retail, sports and leisure, luxury goods and food and drink sectors.

We undertake a considerable amount of registry work – both in the UK and the EU - and are also looking for someone who has experience in Registry proceedings such as Oppositions, invalidity and cancellation proceedings and Appeals.

We take pride in our established track record for successful cases and have acted for clients in the High Court, Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, UK and European trade mark offices, Company Names Tribunal, in domain name disputes and at all stages of appeals.

Key areas of focus are:

• UK, EU and international trade marks.
• Disputes involving trade marks passing off,
• Patents,
• Copyright,
• Designs,
• Confidential information,
• Domain names.

Requirements

We look for individuals who have developed themselves and their capabilities, coupled with commercial acumen and experience. You will have strong, demonstrable experience in intellectual property dispute resolutions. You will be a team player, able to manage a complex and varied workload effectively, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and be self-motivated.
