Job Details
We are seeking a senior legal counsel, specialising in data protection, for our client in Bedfordshire. Reporting into the Data Protection Officer, you will be providing support on the company’s data protection programme, including providing legal advice to the business and its affiliates on data protection matters.
You will be responsible for:
• Supporting the Group Data Protection Officer in managing the business’s Group Data Protection Programme in accordance with its governance and accountability requirements outlined under law.
• Supporting the Group Data Protection Officer in developing, maintaining and implementing a strategic approach to data protection in accordance with data protection law, other data-related laws and regulations, and relevant codes of practice.
• Supporting the Group Data Protection Team in developing and delivering appropriate policies, standards, guidance, training and awareness activities which support the business in meeting their data protection obligations.
You will have at least 5 years of PQE, ideally in-house. You will have excellent technical legal skills in data protection as well as being pro-active and self-motivated. If you are a problem-solvers with a high commercial approach, we’d like to hear from you.
