Our client is a global banking entity that works with developing countries to strengthen their economies by offering a range of financial products and advisory services.
A pioneer in sustainable investments with a strong and growing commitment to green investment, this institution is now seeking an employment lawyer to join their established legal team.
This is an exciting and varied role that offers the successful candidate a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work, but more specifically:
- Drafting and interpreting internal policies and procedures regulating the management of human resources and employee relations;
- Managing employee litigation and advising on disciplinary matters and staff grievances;
- Drafting and negotiating bespoke employment documentation, contracts and settlement agreements, when necessary;
- Advising staff on compensation matters, benefits and staff insurance;
- Helping to manage the employment legal team’s relationship with external counsel.
Once in the role, the successful candidate will occupy a key, visible role in the organisation that requires regular interaction with HR, Legal and Senior Management teams. As such, in-house employment experience in a financial services organisation would be a bonus, but is not a pre-requisite.
We are looking for lawyers with:
- At least 5 years’ experience of employment law;
- Experience of contentious work at the Employment Tribunal level;
- The ability to recognise reputational issues promptly and escalate appropriately.
Our client is open to submissions from UK, Commonwealth or foreign-qualified lawyers in civil or common law that may be based domestically or overseas. Foreign language skills would be a bonus.
This is a rare and unique opportunity for an employment lawyer to support a financial services organisation that helps develop economies and deliver on its core principle of ethical investment.
