General Counsel, High Profile Not-for-Profit, 12 months, Immediate Start, Central London

This high profile not-for-profit organisation is well respected throughout the UK for its work combatting poverty and injustice in the UK and internationally. 

The Opportunity

Is working in the not-for-profit sector something you’ve thought about? Perhaps even done before? This organisation now has a need for a General Counsel to join the team on a 12 month contract. This position will lead the legal team and is responsible for the provision of legal services to the organisation, quantifying and managing risk, ensuring legal compliance whilst enabling and future-proofing the organisation from a legal perspective. A key element of this position will be to provide counsel to trustees, executive directors, the senior team and the organisation and advise on legal issues, risk, reputational management and regulatory matters.

About You

Excellent commercial contracts and managerial experience is required, as is the ability to hit the ground running on a wide range of day-to-day matters including marketing, sponsorships and IP. Any not-for-profit, corporate governance or regulatory experience would be beneficial. The role would be best suited to a lawyer with a broad in-house background.
