In House Counsel - Head of Regulation

OUR CLIENT

An exciting, disruptive fin tech business in the retail financial services sector with a well established in house legal function seeks to appoint Solicitor 5 + PQE to join the business as the Head of Regulation & Compliance in a leadership role.

THE ROLE

The post holder will be expected to work at board level, leading and mentoring a team in a business facing role. This is a key position and will involve working closely with the Consumer Credit and Transactional Legal Division.

The min areas of work will include:-:

Provision of legal and commercial advice relating to regulation and compliance, risk management and training

Working closely with other control functions including Risk, Finance and Internal Audit.

Responsibility for operational and regulatory risk management - ensuring information systems are operated to the required standards

Identification of areas of risk, creating and implementing policies and procedures for all key risk areas,

Developing and implementing training and education programme

Developing and implement a robust monitoring and auditing plan, tracking issues and remedial action.

The Candidate

To be considered for this exceptional leadership role in the fin tech sector, applicants will ideally have a background in the consumer finance sector with relevant technical skills in regulation and / or compliance. The successful candidate will have solid management and leadership skills, capable of working within a rapidly developing business.
