Interim Head of Legal, Surrey

My client is an instantly recognisable, global consumer brand, based in Surrey.

It is seeking an Interim Head of Legal to cover a period of maternity leave. The role will begin in November 2019 and last for a period of 8-9 months. The work will be broad and include advising on both B2C and B2C legal issues. It is a senior role within the organisation and will report directly to the business hence the successful applicant will need to have strong influencing skills.

The role is broad and amongst other things, you will draft and negotiate pan-EU commercial contracts, advise on competition law, undertake consumer regulatory work, provide data privacy advice and in addition you will manage a small team of lawyers.

The ideal candidate will have strong academics, good training and several years PQE, with previous managerial experience. You will need to be technically sound and used to working in a fast-paced in house environment. You may be a competition lawyer who has accumulated a breadth of in-house experience, or you may have historically been a commercial lawyer who has subsequently dealt with competition and regulatory matters in-house.
