Compliance Team Legal Counsel (Maternity Cover)

An international charity is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their compliance team to cover a maternity leave commencing in October 2019.   

The successful candidate will be part of a core compliance team of four lawyers and will be responsible for leading the development and management of legal, regulatory and compliance matters in relation to the charity’s international program in over 50 countries worldwide.

They will be involved in :

• providing high quality professional support on a range of legal regulatory and compliance issues affecting their operations as a charity registered in England with international operations.
• developing, managing and supporting processes and tools to secure compliance with policies and procedures reflecting legal compliance requirements.
• keeping legal and regulatory compliance policies up to date.
• supporting and monitoring training to assure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and best practice.
• recommending changes where appropriate to improve compliance and drive implementation of improvements by engaging internal and external stakeholders.

This is a unique opportunity for a junior or mid-level lawyer to move into, or build upon existing expertise in, the NGO sector, and do interesting, challenging and meaningful work as part of a small team.
