Employment Associate/Senior Associate (3-8 years PQE) - London or Reading

OVERVIEW 

Our client is a highly regarded City headquartered international law firm which, due to its current workload and sustained success, is looking to bolster its employment practise in London with the hire of an experienced Associate/Senior Associate. 

THE ROLE

The new hire will join a highly successful, supportive and growing employment team; a team that is renowned for providing high-quality advice to commercial clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters, often with an international aspect. The work itself is fast-paced and offers huge variety including the chance to get fully involved in:

• day-to-day employment queries from the firm’s corporate clients;
• maternity/family related issues (employers’ side)
• equality and discrimination matters and general disciplinary and grievance issues;
• reorganisations and redundancies and settlement agreements;
• restrictive covenants; TUPE and managing Tribunal claims;
• leave issues and working time questions;
• strategic projects such as dealing with compliance matters and new legal requirements;
• senior executive issues, including negotiating appointments and exits;
• industrial relations and trade union matters; and
• employment tribunal, civil court and appeal court litigation.

REQUIREMENTS 

• you will be an experienced employment associate with between 3-8 years’ PQE
• your experience should include some corporate support, TUPE and employment tribunal work;
• a meticulous eye for detail is essential;
• for more senior candidates, experience of managing teams and dealing with junior colleagues;
• strong academic background with a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent; and
• exceptional written and oral communication skills. 

SALARY 

As a leading international practice, the firm offers £80-120k + per annum (dependent on level of PQE) plus benefits and access to exceptional benefits.
