Common Law Qualified Banking & Finance Associate

Our client is one of the leading and most highly regarded commercial law firms in Oman.  From its large, long established and highly regarded Muscat operation, it regularly tops the rankings in the Chambers and Legal500 directories across the practice groups in the Middle East.

Its pre-eminent Banking and Finance practice in Muscat seeks an ambitious common law qualified lawyer ready willing to make a commitment to furthering his/her legal career in Oman.  This is an opportunity to develop professionally by working with some of the most experienced professionals in the region.  The current team includes a native English qualified partner and a native English qualified senior associate on the ground in Oman (as well as many locally qualified partners and associates) with whom you would work closely.  

Typical workload would involve representing major global and regional banks and financial institutions, corporates and government bodies on large and often complicated conventional and Islamic finance transactions across the asset classes - including project, corporate, asset, acquisition and real estate finance - as well as bilateral and syndicated lending, both cross border and regional.

Requirements for the role include:-

•                           English/Australasian qualified Solicitor; with 1-4 PQE

•                           From 1-4 years PQE specialising in banking and finance at a top City or national law firm in England, or Australia/New Zealand (or another major global financial centre either within or outside the GCC region);

•                           Excellent prior familiarity with a range of financial documentation and transactions and happy to work as part of a team.
