Corporate Associate / Senior Associate Manchester - This established Manchester team is looking for an experienced corporate solicitor who is looking for a real challenge and a genuine step up. The corporate team are investing in further establishing their M&A offering in Manchester. They are ideally looking for someone who already has an established network of contacts and who is keen to find a firm that will work with them to get them on a firm route to Partnership.

THE ROLE AT A GLANCE

• Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
• Reports to: Corporate Head of Department
• Previous experience: M&A experience whether dealing with SMEs or larger corporates. Ideally candidates should, by now, have a solid network of contacts. No following is required. Our client is looking for an experienced corporate solicitor who is looking for a firm which is capable of bringing their career on further.

THE CURRENT TEAM - WORK AND STRUCTURE

The Manchester team is already established with a solid presence and respectable brand in the market place. They have a busy public markets team but are still looking to grow the Mergers and Acquisitions side of the department. To that end, they are looking for an experienced lawyer who is looking for a firm which offers quality work, but also a route through to Partnership. This is a crucial position offering genuine progression and development.

KEY QUALITIES - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Practical technical ability is obviously important, but what our client is really looking for is someone with real business development skills and the ability to grow and nurture contacts. This is what will make applicants really stand out.

SUPPORT FROM THE REST OF THE TEAM

The team has already devised a strategy to support the successful candidate by affording them introductions to existing clients and intermediaries with a view to cross-selling the corporate services of the firm. You can be sure of the full support in helping you to build your own offering and a career towards Partnership.

THE RIGHT CHARACTERISTICS

The ideal candidate will be an experienced corporate solicitor with a particular specialism in corporate M&A and / or private equity. They will ideally come from a respected firm within the Manchester market. The key however, will be their ability to business develop and grow a team. Perhaps you are currently at another national firm and are struggling to make the next step up in your career. Perhaps you feel you do not have a sufficiently developed or portable following. Either way, we are keen to hear from you.

Our client is looking for someone with whom they can work together and develop the corporate offering further in Manchester. This will encompass a clear roadmap in terms of progression and (for the right candidate) a route to Partnership. The salary package on offer is excellent.
