About Us

This organisation is a leader in its space and is very much at the forefront of innovation, technology transfers and investing in science and early stage drugs in order to make an impact on fighting disease. As a non-profit organisation, the focus is truly on improving the lives of patients and making a long-term difference to medical treatment and healthcare.

The Opportunity

Due to ongoing success in the commercialisation of research, the organisation is in a fortunate position of having funds to re-invest. As a result, an additional lawyer is needed for the central London legal team to provide dedicated legal support to the business, with particular responsibility for these investments. The investment structures will need IP and general commercial contracts support as well as corporate/spin out advice where companies are created using seed funding.

In addition, you will also provide licensing support in the exploitation of research assets and technology transfer clients. You will support the business on a wide range of matters specifically focusing on the research, development and commercialisation of new and ongoing research. The work will be varied and will involve drafting and reviewing licensing agreements and other agreements relating to research and drug development. Working with the General Counsel and the wider team, you will also provide support on company secretarial and governance matters.

About You

This is an excellent opportunity for an IP lawyer with life sciences experience or a corporate lawyer with life sciences spin outs experience to work with an innovative, forward-thinking organisation with an excellent reputation and keen dedication to its cause.

The ideal candidate will have some life science experience, knowledge of how to commercialise IP as well as corporate spin outs and licensing of assets within a life sciences context. A strong academic background is essential, with a science background being very well regarded. This is an excellent opportunity for an IP lawyer with life sciences experience to move in-house and work with a leading organisation at a time of key investment for the organisation. You will work closely with the business and as a result, a personable approach and the ability to work with people at all levels across the organisation is essential.
