Job Details

Our client is a British independent record label based in London.

The Head of Legal is looking for a Business Affairs Manager to join their London office.

You will work across a number of recording and publishing companies and on a daily basis may be involved in drafting producer or artwork agreements, negotiating broadcast licenses, managing publishing deals and advising the digital teams on copyright issues - to name a few.

The environment is exciting, busy and friendly.

The successful person will be a qualified solicitor or business affairs professional who enjoys a diverse workload.

You will be an NQ+ solicitor with strong music experience, or unqualified but with at least 2 years of directly relevant business affairs experience. You will have a working knowledge of music rights and commercial contracts as well as experience of drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements including producer, mixer and featured artist agreements, publishing deals, broadcast and sample licences, and letters of variation.

In summary, the ideal candidate is someone who has good music experience and can draft and negotiate producer, featured artist and composer agreements from day one. If you have publishing experience that's even better, since the role sits across both sides of the business. However, if you have good drafting skills and a keen desire to move into the music arena, please get in touch.

This is a great role for someone who wants responsibility, variety and a good work-life balance. As a flexible employer, our client will consider someone who wants to work reduced hours or a 4 day week.
