This Singapore office of this premier US law firm acts for a plethora of major clients on sophisticated business transactions across South and Southeast Asia.
In response to practice growth they seek an England & Wales qualified associate (4-6PQE) with a solid foundation in corporate/project agreements and relevant experience working in a leading financial centre at a top tier international firm. Knowledge of oil and gas agreements would be particularly advantageous in this position.
Working closely with partners the work on offer will include acting for exploration and production companies on asset and corporate acquisitions, gas and LNG sale and purchase agreements, joint operating agreements, farm-out agreements, production sharing contracts, concession agreements, unitization agreements and joint study and bidding agreements. They also advise developers of power projects in various countries throughout Southeast Asia, while there will also be the opportunity to get your hands on a variety of general corporate and finance work.
Applicants will need to be technically strong, creative and flexible in their approach, possessing the ability to work autonomously or as part of a larger team when required. Those looking for variety, responsibility and extensive travel across the region will be well served, while it is expected that the ideal candidate will have a superb academic pedigree and have gained their experience to date with a leading UK/US law firm. Regional deal experience would no doubt be beneficial, but is not essential.
