This is an employment partner role within a progressive City firm whose employment team is going from strength to strength and now has strategic growth plans to bring on board another partner.
With the team's revenues growing significantly year on year, being rated in the directories and gaining recognition, the team is now focused on hiring another partner in order to take their next step in building a highly respected employment law offering. With 15% of their firm's turnover, the team has a good place within the full service firm, with exceptional cross-selling and in a happy and motivated team with a very high retention rate.
The work of the team comprises a real mix: a smaller element of corporate support, a good range of litigation work, with the remainder being advisory and across all aspects from restructurings, HR advice as well as dealing with a whole range of issues from data protection through to disciplinary hearings.
The team is known for its excellent calibre, with many people having come from very reputable law firms (often larger) but with a desire to work in a more personable, cohesive and collegiate environment where partners genuinely have a say in the strategy and development of the firm as they continue to grow. The team currently acts for a real mix of clients (mainly corporates/commercial organisations) in areas as diverse as retail, financial services, travel, technology.
Unusually, this is not a firm who are simply looking to bolt on the incoming partner's clients: more important to them is that someone has a track record of generating business and an appetite to go out and join up with others to help further develop the team. They have a good level of work to be harnessed, with a wide potential of opportunities for the right person to build upon. With this in mind, this may either suit an established partner, or a lawyer seeking partnership for the first time.
Desirable, but not essential, is experience in areas including data protection, partnership law and incentives.
