Job Details

On behalf of our client, a FMCG business, we are seeking a company secretary on a part time basis. Working three days a week, you will be responsible for corporate governance across the group of companies and will hold a strategic position at the heart of governance operations within the group with direct dealings with the board. This is a newly created role; an outstanding and high profile opportunity for someone to make the role their own and get involved in strategy and manage over 100 entities.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•              Maintain statutory books, including registers of members, directors and secretaries

•              Contribute to meeting discussions as and when required, and advise members of the boards and audit & risk committee on proposed corporate governance policies and changes in legislation

•              Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and take appropriate action, including ensuring compliance of the Group with the new corporate governance reporting requirements for private companies. Develop and oversee the systems to ensure that the Group is compliant

The successful candidate will be a qualified as a chartered secretary (ICSA) preferred (or professional accountant or solicitor with good company secretary experience). You will flexible, adaptable and personable with strong communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels.
