A successful and growing global advertising and marketing organisation (a previous tech unicorn) in the heart of the City that has gained excellent investment in recent years. Much of the company's growth has been organic, however the company has also expanded through acquisition. This technology company serves 4,500 brands and agencies across 20 countries worldwide. This company has been around for 10 years but has retained its "start-up" air of excitement and modern working environment.

Your new role

A sought after interim general counsel role starting as soon as possible. This is a stand-alone legal role reporting into the CFO and a close working relationship with the CEO. You will be responsible for providing advice and strategic solutions to the board. This a broad commercial role covering all legal matters, including intellectual property, data protection and GDPR, litigation, company secretarial, corporate and general commercial matters and directing external counsel. Working in a fast-paced environment will demand excellent technical and international ability to drive the business forward.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a UK or Commonwealth qualified lawyer with excellent academics and strong commercial experience, ideally in a technology or start-up environment. You will have the commercial acumen to navigate through the challenges of a fast-moving environment. You will be able to demonstrate the robustness and agility to push back diplomatically to the business and strong characters when necessary. You will have a proactive and flexible mindset, ready to work both autonomously and as part of a team when needed, as well as being able to align with the organisation's strategy. You will need to be immediately available or available on short notice for this position.
