Overview

Blue Prism is seeking a Compliance Manager to join our global legal team. The role will be based in either London or Warrington and will report to Blue Prism’s Senior Corporate Counsel based in London. As our new Compliance Manager, you will have day-to-day responsibility for the implementation, enforcement and development of certain Blue Prism compliance programmes, including in relation to anti-bribery and corruption, working alongside other members of Blue Prism’s legal team and relevant business stakeholders. Given the pace of growth at Blue Prism, you will also have the opportunity to get involved in other compliance/legal team activities and projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Compliance Manager role is likely to involve:

Compliance

  • Managing the implementation of Blue Prism compliance policies and programmes, including in relation to anti-bribery and corruption
  • Helping to drive the development and strengthening of Blue Prism’s compliance strategy, policies, processes, documentation and record keeping
  • Liaising with subject matter experts to design, roll out and monitor internal training programmes on a range of compliance topics
  • Performing anti-bribery and corruption risk assessments
  • Act as anti-bribery compliance officer, managing day-to-day requests for approvals for gifts, hospitality and other matters raising corruption risks, developing and maintaining a gifts and hospitality register and responding to queries in relation to Blue Prism’s policies
  • Managing third party risk assessments and due diligence checks
  • Reporting on compliance programme metrics
  • Becoming an internal adviser colleagues (including those within the legal team) on compliance matters
  • Assist with investigations and internal and/or external audit requirements, including playing an active role in information security audits
  • Assisting in the development, roll-out and delivery of compliance training
  • Keeping abreast of compliance best practices

 

General

  • A trusted member of Blue Prism’s global legal team, collaborating with regional colleagues in EMEA, the Americas and APAC, and with SMEs in the global legal team, as required
  • Acting as standard-bearer for ethics and compliance within the company, leading by example
  • Contributing to the work of the global legal team in other areas by leading special projects as required

 

Person description

Required

  • Previous compliance and/or legal experience, with an understanding of anti-bribery and corruption regimes (including the UK Bribery Act and US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act)
  • Sound judgement, comfortable making judgement calls under pressure
  • Robust and respectful, with an ability to push back and escalate as required
  • Self-starter that pro-actively identifies potential problems and takes ownership of issues to drive resolution
  • Ability to work independently and manage a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Genuine interest in technology and excited by the opportunities presented by working in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment
  • Flexible and willing to respond to the changing needs of a fast-growing business

Ideal

  • Experience of acting as an anti-corruption compliance officer or holding other compliance officer roles
  • Experience of other compliance and/or regulatory frameworks, such as GDPR
  • Experience of working within an organisation aligned to the ISO standard for information security
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced technology company
  • Experience of working in an international business
  • Language skills for any of the major regions in which Blue Prism operates
