In-house Legal Counsel

THE BUSINESS

This fast growing technology driven business is undergoing a period of significant growth, both in the UK and overseas. Headquartered in West Yorkshire and with offices across the globe, it is an interesting time to join their well established in-house legal counsel team.


THE ROLE
Our client is currently looking to hire an in-house legal counsel to take on a diverse role providing direct support to key internal clients as well as assist the Head of Legal with strategic projects. Some international travel may be required. The core of the role will be commercial/IP based but will also encompass corporate, company secretarial, compliance, IT, employment and litigation matters.
You will:
· Provide legal support to key stakeholders the group on such matters as commercial contracts, corporate acquisitions, data protection, IP, employment and property.
· Support the sales contract team in high value or complex sales negotiations.
· Understand and manage corporate risk.
· Develop and deliver training to colleagues across the Group.
· Instruct and manage external legal counsel both in the UK and internationally.

The position might suit an individual who has just qualified, or indeed someone with a few years experience under their belt, and the role responsibilities would be managed accordingly around experience levels.

In-house experience would be a bonus, yet is not essential. However, you will need to demonstrate wider commercial 'nous' in addition to your legal skills. Given the significant legal knowledge base already present in the organisation there will be considerable support for this role.
