LAWYER NEEDED FOR 6 MONTHS PROJECT - PAYMENTS PRODUCT, FINTECH

We are working with a leading bank in London who are urgently looking for a legal counsel to support an innovative project, on an initial 6 month fixed term contract.

They are currently managing a project where they are developing and launching a new payments-related product. You will be joining the projects team as one of the main representatives of the legal team. The key responsibilities are coordinating the project, identifying where support is needed and acting as a conduit to the legal team at the bank. The remit for the role is very broad, including payments law, IP and data privacy matters, and corporate/commercial law.

This is a unique opportunity to support an interesting, fast-paced and dynamic team. This London office is the hub for their innovative projects and has a creative, FinTech start-up vibe. You will be working very closely with business and the project team, with a high level of responsibility. You must be a self-starter who can work to tight deadlines and confidence in making strategic decisions.

The successful candidates will need to have qualified in the UK (or equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction with experience of working in the UK). These roles would best suit candidates with at least 4 years PQE, gained either in private practice (ideally a top UK or international law firm) or as in-house counsel within financial institutions. It is highly preferable for candidates with experience in acquiring merchants and merchant services. Excellent communication skills will be mandatory, and project management and organisational skills would be highly desirable. Previous experience of managing innovative projects and applicable FCA regulations would also be advantageous. Ideally you would be available to start within the next 4 weeks.
