To support the business we seek to recruit a Commercial Solicitor to join the team at the UK Headquarters in Stoke on Trent.


Role - Commercial Solicitor:

Reporting into the Head of Legal, as a Commercial Solicitor you will focus on the commercial sales and marketing of Michelin Tyre PLC in the UK, and engage with other Michelin Group owned companies, principally Bookatable and Blackcircles.com. You will operate as part of the wider Michelin Europe North Region (EUN) and will have the opportunity to work closely with the Germany legal team, collaborating on regional projects.

The focus of the role will include: drafting and negotiating standard and non-standard commercial contracts; the provision of comprehensive support and advice for commercial operations; validation of marketing and media material; advice on distribution and associated added value services; purchasing support, including potential disputes; company secretarial support; basic GDPR and compliance matters; and engagement with the Europe North legal team on miscellaneous projects.


About you:

To be successful in this role you will need a good grounding in commercial law and be willing and competent at dealing with matters which may not be in your specialist area. As an in-house solicitor, you will be expected to demonstrate sound commercial and legal judgment as well as a practical "common sense" approach to the provision of legal advice.

The role is suitable for solicitors with c. 1-4 years' PQE experience and applications are encouraged from individuals with commercial contracts, commercial litigation and/or corporate experience. It is anticipated that you will have trained with, and worked with, a leading commercial law firm or equivalent in-house legal department.
