About the role
Forming part of the Banking Products Legal team, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal support to the cash management and payments, commercial banking and digital and strategic projects teams within the bank.
Key responsibilities
- Providing commercially focused and timely legal advice to the commercial banking division and other internal clients
- Acting as a legal representative in business/divisional projects, such as Brexit and GDPR
- Advising on commercial contracts, including technology contracts, supplier contracts and terms of business related to the bank's standard products
- Supporting the business on their digital innovation projects
- Advising the business on the strategic development of legal and regulatory frameworks, policies and procedures
Key requirements
- Common law qualified solicitor
- Experience in commercial contracts within either the banking or payments industry
- Payments law experience is preferred but not essential
