Legal Counsel – Construction

Based in Milton Keynes, with other UK offices

Our Company
CityFibre is the UK’s leading alterider of wholesale fibre infrastructure. Known for our Gigabit City projects in which we deploy next generation digital infrastructure to the public sector, businesses community, mobile operators and homes, CityFibre is disrupting the UK telecoms market and helping spark our digital economy. With bold plans, and partners signed up, to deploy fibre direct to 5 million homes and businesses, we are transforming the digital capabilities of towns and cities up and down the country.

The Role

With our city-wide infrastructure projects progressing across multiple UK towns and cities, we are looking for a solicitor with 3+ years non-contentious construction experience to join the team and support our roll-out.

The legal team is already well integrated into the Supply Chain and Construction functions of the company and, as a key contributor, the successful candidate will advise on a range of construction-related matters – including drafting & negotiating construction contracts with contractors, advising the business on construction issues in-life and working with material vendors, software providers and design houses to support our city-wide roll-outs.

Experience of bespoke and standard-form construction contracts is essential (such as the NEC suite of documents), together with a strong commercial background. An understanding of the end-to-end construction management process would also be helpful. When applying, please highlight which forms of construction contract you have worked on, with examples of involvement.

The role will be based in our Milton Keynes office, though will involve some UK travel to meet with contractors and with internal stakeholders as required.

Our Team

A company of ambition is nothing without the right team to deliver it and we are looking for highly motivated people to join us. We are committed to delivering a better digital future for our customers, their customers and for the towns and cities in which they live. We are nimble, quick and creative in our approach while holding firm in our beliefs. To be part of the CityFibre team means to go the extra mile in support of your colleagues and to enjoy making a real difference. Get in touch, find out more and join us on our journey.

Our Values

• Integrity – Honest in our beliefs, in our actions, in our promises
• Agility – We are nimble, quick and exact on delivering our commitments
• Transparency – We strive to be transparent in the things that we do and the decisions we make
• Excellence – We aim to be the best we can be
• Collaboration – We are a team that embraces collaboration with colleagues and customers
