Commercial or Regulatory Lawyer, Banking Disruptor

Not all the funky FinTech companies are in London, and this innovative group of businesses based in Manchester is looking for an additional junior lawyer for the team. You will be based in large modern, well-equipped offices with excellent facilities such as gym, restaurant and parking. The group currently off loans, current accounts, credit cards, mortgages and insurance as well as debt management services. As part of the small legal team you will get excellent training directly from the General Counsel, and good exposure to management and decision makers. This company does its business via the app, online and telephone so you need to be IT savvy and quickly understand what the customer wants. The business moves fast, and additional support is required around approving financial promotions, advertising and marketing as well as commercial contracts. You will need to get to grips with consumer regulations quickly and some exposure to a regulated industry would be useful. Another area requiring more legal support is the debt management, insolvency and broking side to the business. The culture reflects its customers and is very open door and transparent. With good governance in place you need to be prepared for accountability.

There is some flexibility around what our client is looking for as excellent guidance is on offer but ideally applicants should be 2 to 5 years qualified with commercial contracts and/or regulatory experience. Some experience of an in-house environment would be useful.
