Are you seeking an opportunity to progress with a specialist Real Estate firm that punches well above their weight, dealing with the highest quality City work? This is an extremely entrepreneurial practice.

The firm

A specialist Real Estate firm who are ranked highly in the Legal 500 is looking to expand. This firm has one of the best-known names for quality Real Estate work and punches well above their weight; their work quality is on par with top City firms.

Many of the lawyers are ranked in the Chambers, they deal with transactions at a Magic Circle level and have over 200 years of expertise. The firm attracts many Lawyers from Magic and Silver circles looking for a high quality of work but wanting to work in more of a relaxed environment and perhaps have a better work-life balance.

The firm work with all the large banks and have a Real Estate focus in all the areas they practice across. They have recently attracted two new teams from top City firms; this acquisition has significantly increased workload. The firm now has just over 50 fee earners in total.

The culture of this firm stands them out from the crowd. They are very dynamic, incredibly entrepreneurial, and very progressive. If you are currently working in a top-heavy department and looking for a route to Partnership, this firm could offer a springboard to Partnership. Equally, the firm is keen to hear from Partners looking for a lateral move.

The role

The firm is seeking to recruit a Senior Construction Lawyer for their City of London based office.

You will join a team of highly experienced and commercially minded Lawyers that deal with a broad client base to boast of. Due to an influx of new work they are seeking a new Senior Lawyer to join the team.

You will work alongside other Partners and leading this growing team, whilst managing your own caseload. The firm deals with a very impressive quality of work, you will find a very interesting caseload of complex and often, high-value disputes. You will find that there is real variety to the work, making for a much more interesting role. The caseload will include; Adjudications, Contract disputes, Professional negligence, Liquidated damages and Disruption claims.

This role would be well suited to a candidate that may have hit a glass ceiling in terms of progression, or a Partner seeking Equity. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-established firm that has real ambition to continue to grow.

Requirements:

  • You will be a Contentious Construction Solicitor with at least seven years PQE (there is no upper limit in regard to the amount of experience)
  • You will be based in the City of London.
  • You will ideally have experience of leading a team, although this is not essential
  • A good billings history is essential, experience of introducing new business is desired
  • You should be ambitious and wanting to progress
  • A good technical knowledge is essential
  • Remuneration is above market rate and negotiable depending on your level of experience, plus an excellent bonus structure and benefits package.
