Our Client, an international law firm with offices spread across numerous locations over several continents, is looking to add to its numbers with the appointment of a solicitor for its disputes team.

The Team and Opportunity

The Financial Markets and Regulatory Disputes Group represent clients in the financial services sector, advising financial institutions banks on claims by counterparties, corporate and retail customers and on regulatory issues.  The team work alongside the firms wider litigation and arbitration groups and have long-standing experience of advising on a wide variety of complex and high-profile cases.

This opportunity will provide for early responsibility, varied work and excellent exposure to clients in a collegiate and supportive environment. The teams broad focus means they are familiar with most of the causes of disputes within the financial sector. They have the know-how to deal with the complexities of modern litigation and are also experts in alternative dispute resolution techniques such as mediation. Included in the team are advocates who regularly appear in court on complex financial markets disputes.

The Candidate

As the successful candidate you will be between NQ and 4 PQE. You will be engaged to work on a significant existing book of litigation and investigations work for a range of high-profile clients. Of the utmost importance is the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients alike. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to work independently under supervision of the partners in a strong team environment.

Note that consideration will be given to candidates at the lower end of the PQE level who don’t necessarily have the financial services experience but want to specialise in this area of law.
