Legal Counsel, Equity Derivatives (6m Contract) – Leading European Investment Bank
Our client, a leading European investment bank, are looking for a lawyer to join their equity derivatives legal team on a 6m contract.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the business in the creation and design of new indices to be wrapped in structured products;
- Drafting index descriptions and reviewing index methodology supplements for indices;
- Drafting and negotiation of licence agreements in respect of the bank’s indices to third parties;
- Assisting in the review of incoming service level agreements and index licence agreements and index-specific supplements to agreements with index calculation agents;
- Participating in governance committees intended to review and approve new indices and drafting legal input for these committees;
- Participating in index incident analysis and drafting responses from a legal perspective
- Providing legal structuring advice for fund/securities distribution-related matters and other projects.
Skills and Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with 3+ years of post-qualification experience in derivatives and structured products
- Knowledge of ISDA documentation architecture, definitional booklets and market standard OTC documentation
- Familiarity with securities issuance programmes and structured product platforms
- Knowledge of European directives applicable to cross-border securities offerings/distribution and indices
- An understanding of regulatory developments impacting equity-linked products, OTC derivatives and securitised derivatives
